Welcome to my home page!

I have been an Assistant Professor at the Computer and Systems Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, Alexandria University, Alexandria, Egypt since fall 2011. From fall 2014 to August 2017, I was also an Assistant Professor at the Computer Science and Engineering Department at Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology. Since August 2017, I have been a Computer Scientist at the Information Sciences Institute, which is part of the Viterbi School of Engineering, University of Southern California.

I obtained my PhD in 2009 from the Department of Computer Science, University of Maryland at College Park, under the supervision of Prof. Larry Davis.

During and after my PhD, I spent a sum of 30 months working with the Imaging Group (now renamed as the Spatial Analysis Group) at Mitsubishi Electric Research Labs.
